Scientology Words for October

What is Scientology has a glossary with loads of Scientology terms. Here are a few:

aberration:
a departure from rational thought or behavior. It means basically to err, to make mistakes, or more specifically to have fixed ideas which are not true. The word is also used in its scientific sense. It means departure from a straight line. If a line should go from A to B, then if it is aberrated it would go from A to some other point, to some other point, to some other point, to some other point, to some other point, and finally arrive at B. Taken in this sense, it would also mean the lack of straightness or to see crookedly as, for example, a man sees a horse but thinks he sees an elephant. Aberrated conduct would be wrong conduct, or conduct not supported by reason. When a person has engrams, these tend to deflect what would be his normal ability to perceive truth and bring about an aberrated view of situations which then would cause an aberrated reaction to them. Aberration is opposed to sanity, which would be its opposite. From the Latin, aberrare, to wander from; Latin, ab, away, errare, to wander.

analytical mind: that part of the mind which one consciously uses and is aware of. It is the portion of the mind which thinks, observes data, remembers it and resolves problems.

reactive mind: that part of the mind which works on a totally stimulus-response basis, which is not under a person’s volitional control, and which exerts force and the power of command over his awareness, purposes, thoughts, body and actions.

"Being totally in present time gives me a new perspective of the world around me. I see things, hear sounds, taste, feel, notice so much more. It's like all of my perceptics have awakened -especially to others. My ability to communicate and my awareness of their tone level has greatly improved. They were tough but worth every minute of it! Thanks, David!" GDR

"To use the best I know of Scientology to the best of my ability to help my family, friends, groups and the world." Code of a Scientologist #2
From The Northern Colorado Alliance for a Better World:
"We're a coordinating body for social betterment groups operating in this region. Our purpose is to promote and align activities and procure resources, thus joining people who share the vision of a better world through effective, cooperative and peaceful actions. We meet on the second Wednesday of every month, 7:00 at the Boulder Mission. We're looking for more players for our game of handling Northern Colorado! Leave a message for Leif B, Coordinator, at the Mission if you'd like to join the NCABW email list."

-NCABW Member Carl A. recently gave a presentation on the Youth for Human Rights International program to the Diversity Club at Berthoud High School. It was received enthusiastically and has led to follow-up inquiries from club members and teachers. Carl thanks Sue McC. and his wingman, Mat A. for their help with the event. To become involved with local YHRI activities, contact Carl at 970-231-8841.

-Devyn I. is heading up a project to distribute the human rights PSA DVDs to local Opinion Leaders in the area with the target list of 160 individuals. Please contact Devyn directly at 303-350-0533 if you have some of these available or want to donate for this project.
